Privacy Policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
The short version: your workouts live on your phone. Progress photos and Apple Health data never leave your device. We do not show ads, use tracking or analytics tools, or sell your data. If you create an account or buy Pro, we only use the information needed to make those work.
This policy explains what information the MaxLog app (the “App”) and this website collect, how it is used and the choices you have. MaxLog is published by MaxLog (“we”, “us”).
1. Information stored on your device
The App works without an account. The following is created and kept on your device in the App’s private storage:
- Workouts you complete: exercises, sets, weights, reps, rest times and dates.
- Saved workouts, your usual rest times and set counts, and exercise preferences.
- Settings such as weight units.
- A workout in progress, so you can resume it if the App is closed.
We cannot see this information. Deleting the App deletes it, unless you have chosen to back it up as described below.
2. Account (optional)
If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password, which is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider, Supabase. We use your email only to sign you in and to send messages about your account, such as confirming your email or resetting your password.
If you turn on backup and sync when it is available, your workout records (exercises, sets, weights, reps and dates) are stored with Supabase so you can restore them on another device. Progress photos and Apple Health data are never included.
3. Apple Health
Apple Health access is off unless you turn it on, and you choose exactly what to allow in Apple’s permission screen. When enabled, the App may:
- Read active calories, heart rate and body weight for the time of each workout, to show what the workout burned.
- Write your completed strength workouts and their active calories to Apple Health.
Health data is processed only on your device. It is not sent to our servers or to any third party, is not used for advertising or marketing, and is never sold. You can change or revoke access at any time in the iPhone Settings app under Health → Data Access & Devices.
4. Camera and photos
If you add a progress photo, the App asks for access to your camera or photo library and saves a copy in its own private storage on your device. Photos are never uploaded or shared. Removing a photo, or deleting the workout it belongs to, deletes the copy.
5. Purchases
Pro subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. We use RevenueCat to confirm your purchases and unlock Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status, and basic device information such as your country and App version. If you are signed in, this is linked to your account so Pro works on all your devices.
6. What we do not do
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
7. Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the App, and only for that purpose: Supabase (accounts and, if enabled, backup), RevenueCat (purchases) and Apple (App distribution and payments). They are bound to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law.
8. Keeping and deleting your information
Data on your device stays until you delete it in the App or delete the App. Account data is kept until you delete your account. You can delete your account, together with any backed-up workouts, from within the App or by emailing us at support@getmaxlog.com. We delete it within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records by law.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email support@getmaxlog.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls that keep each account’s data private to its owner. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
11. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the App or on this page, and update the date above.
